Benefiting victims of spinal cord injuries

GRANT REQUEST

Applicants must be citizens of the United States of America, limited to the state of Texas, with priority granted to South Central Texas residents. Applicants are reviewed by the Board of Directors every 30-90 days. Grants are funded on availability and they are paid directly to the vendor (no cash assistance to individuals).

Payments towards larger items (i.e. Vehicles) will not be considered unless all payments are already in place for the total amount. For example, if requesting $2,000 toward a $20,000 purchase, you must have already obtained $18,000 to complete the transaction.

Chelsi Gearty 2019 Grant Recipient

When I met Roger and everyone behind Shoot To Walk, I made connections and found support that I never imagined I would have. I was beyond grateful, for the monetary blessings Shoot To Walk provided me. But, it’s the relationships and the support that I gained that will last me a lifetime. I am proud and honored to continue to be a part of this wonderful cause with some really awesome people and continue to pay it forward. I love my SCI family.

Jordan Campbell 2018 Grant Recipient

The Shoot to Walk is an amazing event for many reasons. Not only does it help people who have suffered from spinal cord injuries, but it is also the best place to meet and be around people that are either in the same position as you and or people with the same interests. The second year I was the beneficiary and it helped me pay for hand controls so I could drive, which then snowballed me into going back to school. Me and my family love the shoot, it's fun and is for an amazing cause. We have the best time every year.

Testimonials

WHEN IT COMES TO RECOVERY, WE DON'T BACK DOWN

Alyssa

This past year, I was honored to be the 2020 beneficiary for Shoot To Walk. This organization has blessed me in so many ways. From paying for a semester of college, supporting my fitness journey with new workout equipment, and purchasing a pair of KAFO’s. They are simply amazing and willing to help in any area of your life that may need support. Because of them, I have made connections with other individuals with spinal cord injuries and gained a mentor/friend in the process. Beyond grateful to be a part of this generous organization and family.

Jessica

Shoot to Walk has been a complete blessing. I had already accepted that I would not be getting my KAFO’S that would help assist me with standing and hopefully walking soon. As soon as I received a call stating that I was a recipient the first thing they said was “you’re getting your braces”! They’ve helped with my braces and so much more. I am forever thankful. I’m not where I want to be but definitely not where I was.
